Tunnel/Entrance/Walkway
Dark texture gives a sense of confined space in the tunnel. One must travel through the entire walkway before enter to a open space. However in daytime, the glass panels on the side allow light to slid through, suggesting a porous structure. In addition, the dark texture itself is constructed in a changing density form of pores by lines, which compiles with the element of the structure to demonstrate Ricardo's focus on porosity of architecture as the core concept of this monument.

Meeting place
Meeting place is where visitor would walk and stop on the structure. Light texture represent the slight movement in this open space.

The Stair
The stair is fitted in a narrow space with both medium and heavy materials (medium and dark textures). This is the area of circulation. Different from meeting place, people travels from one end to another without significant stopping, the pattern-like medium texture distinguishes the circulation from the meeting place (light texture) Similar to the tunnel, dark texture creates a compact atmosphere to the visitor. Also, as the visitor travels from the bottom to top of the stairs, confusion is created with the applied dark texture. Therefore, apart from the core and deprived concepts, I have imported my idea of illusion to the visitor in this monument.

Monument 1

Monument 2

The two monuments show overlapping structure that balances each other to form stability. The harmonisation of open spaces are significantly displayed by the stability between the block plane and curvillinear plane. The two monuments work together through material and structure to elucidate the underlying concept: "Architectural unity of open spaces is harmonised through the balance of overlapping objects".
